About Me

My photo
We met May 22, 2010 and enjoy going through life together even on the bad days because they make the best ones even better! We enjoy cake and going on walks. Contradictory, we know. We ride horses, play chess, and try to make room for homework.

Prostitutes and War

What is it that makes something a war?

Technically it is a signed declaration of war between two parties. Vietnam is not considered a war or the battle in Iraq. Actually the battle in Iraq is a War on Terrorism. Funny how they used "Terrorism" and not a specific country. Then they can use the money for war anywhere they want claiming terrorism.

Prostitutes
Canadian prostitutes are trying to legalize prostitution with the requirement of a zoning permit and compensation. The judge in the hearing legalized it but some are thinking of repealing it as well. Prostitution will be legal in 30 days in Canada and is already legal in Australia and New Zealand.

In my 10th grade English class, I had a debate on prostitution. I was assigned the affirmative, so I got to research a whole bunch of reasons why legalizing it could be a good thing. When it's legal, the government can require health screenings to make sure the prostitutes aren't passing any STDs. But, research shows that there is a direct correlation between prostitution and drug trafficking. So when prostitution is legalized, it opens the gate for all sorts of other crimes. Hopefully it does he repealed in Canada.
