Knights

The air was filled with the smell of chlorine and competition. Unsteadily I ascended to the block watching the sterilized water sway before timidly. Butterflies filled my stomach as doubt took over my mind. Taking my mark the shot is called, I dive into my first race. Water crosses my eyes as I am streaming below surface. My goggles were sitting crookedly and no longer served a purpose. Breaching the surface I breathed and clawed at the goggles, pushing forward and working my muscles to the max. Success! I reached the otherside and back only to feel blood drip from my face and the sting of chlorine mixing with it. I made it onto the BYU swim team and clawed at my own face in attempt to save time but ended up adding time. I am on the Knights swim team and this story happened on our first swim meet in my relay race. I am also in a dance class so on MW I dance for an hour in the morning which takes alot of energy, and on T-TH I have swim practice and on Fridays I have my swim meets. It definately is not my sport but i am working hard at becoming better and have improved alot. Before I did my flip turns sideways but now I do them forward. I still look retarded diving but I don't care I just keep swimming and doing my best. :)
